Artist's Description
This photograph, taken at the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, was awarded Second Place in the May – July 2012 Wimberley Valley Art League's Regional Juried Exhibit. The juror, Annette DiMeo Carlozzi, Deputy Director for Art & Programs at University of Texas' Blanton Museum of Art, commented that the, ". . . photograph of a saddlery made me look again and again at the patterns of light and shadow, depth of space, and variations of surface texture in an otherwise commonplace Western scene; her medium's play between reality and abstraction gives a whole new meaning to that subject matter.” The photograph was also exhibited at the Wimberley Visitor Center (Sep-Oct 2015) and the Ozona Bank lobby (Feb-Mar 2016).
