Artist's Description

During the United States' August 2017 Total Solar Eclipse we were in Golden, Colorado. At that location, we experienced approximately 90% of the "totality", which was impossible to see without solar glasses . . . except for the odd shadows it produced through the leaves of trees. The best way to see the crescent shadows was by observing them on a flat surface such as a sidewalk. Here the crescent shadows invoke a tree reaching up from a green Earth to a blue sky.
